Birth and Sacrifice of Isaac Genesis 21-22
Abraham and Sarah had their little baby boy, Isaac. Abraham was around 100 years old, and Sarah was at least 90 years old. God was faithful to them in keeping His promise. God was going to make a great nation with Isaac. He didn't need Abraham and Sarah's help in trying to make the promise come true. With God all things are possible, even having a baby at 90 years of age.
When Isaac got older, God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac on an altar. Abraham obeyed God and both Abraham and Isaac went up to Mount Moriah for the sacrifice to be made. Abraham tied Isaac on the altar that they had built. An angel of the Lord appeared and told him not to sacrifice Isaac. God was pleased with the faith that Abraham exhibited. God provided a ram instead to be sacrificed on the altar.
Abraham trusted God and God was pleased with his faith.
