Writings of Solomon - Proverbs and Ecclesiastes
We learned yesterday about the wisdom of Solomon. He was a very wise ruler as well, and as a result of that, there was peace throughout the land during his reign. The culture of Israel became well known during this time period of Solomon's rule. Solomon was a patron of the arts as well. He wrote more than 3,000 proverbs. He also wrote the book of Ecclesiastes, which is Solomon's writings on his reflections on life. The book of Ecclesiastes was one of the earliest philosophy books in the world. The book was written to show that man's life outside of God was useless and futile. One of the most important things that Solomon taught was that we should fear God and keep His commandments.
Solomon's writings took place around 970 B.C.
