True History - Veritas Card # 3 - Trojan War

Trojan War

Around the time period of 1250 B.C., a possible war took place. It was similar to the current story of the Trojan War. A bard named ' Homer' wrote a famous book called, 'The Iliad' The Iliad was just a legend that depicted a woman, Helen of Troy, who was married to the King of Sparta, being captured by a man named Paris, who was the King of Troy. Because of this tragedy, the Trojan War supposedly began.
So the Greeks joined together to fight against the Trojans so Helen could be freed. What they did was to build a large wooden horse, hid some of the soldiers inside, and placed it outside the city gates of Troy. When the Trojans saw the wooden horse, they were overcome with curiosity and took the wooden horse inside of their city, after the Greeks had left. As it got dark outside, the Greek soldiers crept out and opened the city gates, which allowed other soldiers to enter the city. The soldiers killed the Trojans while they were sleeping and then destroyed the city.

  1. Paris was probably known more correctly as the Prince of Troy. His father, Priam, was the king of Troy. So Paris was, in reality, the son of the King of Troy.
