Today in History - January 10, 1946 - The First Meeting of the U.N. Takes Place

   The United Nations was made up of 51 nations. They met for the first time in Westminster Central Hall in London, England.    Other events that took place on this day in History were; an avalanche kills many people in Peru (1962) and and the League of Nations was instituted in 1920.
